Poem: Friends

In this blog entry and the one to follow, I am posting two poems I wrote about friendship. Here is poem 1.

By Blake Roberts

Friends are there to lift you up,
whenever you are down.
They can offer you a ride in the car
whenever you must leave town.

A friend is there to listen
to what you have to say.
They don’t mind you calling
at any time of day.

Being a friend is a two-way street.
It’s not just for number-one.
Friends are there for each other,
because that’s part of the fun.

Some friends are on the Internet,
And others just down the road.
Call a friend when you need to talk,
or unburden your load.

If you need a friend, I am here.
Just email or call on me.
It’s great having and being a friend.
If you doubt, just wait and see.
