New Year’s Resolutions: A Disability Perspective

audio version (opens in a new tab)

I did not post a blog article in the final week of 2020 due to the holiday. I hope my readers had an enjoyable holiday if you celebrated. It’s a new year, and I am looking forward with optimism to what may be possible. In this article, I will share 3 New Year’s resolutions which I set for myself.

One of my resolutions is to continue attending webinars in 2021 about disability-related subjects. I place a high value on webinars because I learn so much. By learning, I gain knowledge. Due to the pandemic, I attended more webinars in 2020 than in previous years. I enjoy learning! It is also important to consider what to do with information.

My second resolution is to continue sharing what I learn. I share information on my blog in an effort to educate other people. In summary, my first two resolutions are to continue attending online trainings and share what I learn with other individuals. By doing so, I can serve as a resource. I have a final resolution for 2021.

My final resolution in 2021 is to make a difference. I think a primary way to do so is through my blog. Once the pandemic is less of a problem, I might be able to do more in-person interaction. My ultimate goal in this resolution is to help others. I look forward to the upcoming year with optimism!

Question for readers: What resolutions do you have for 2021 as a person with a disability? I will return next week with another article.
